The Neuro-Vision Therapy Institute (NVTI) team offers telehealth for new and existing patients. That means instead of visiting our office, we can offer you high quality care from the comfort of your home. We exclusively use a HIPAA compliant telemedicine platform to protect your privacy and make you feel comfortable during your appointment.
While telehealth may be new to you, we will help you through every step of the way. We are actively treating many patients across different age ranges, most who have never used telehealth before NVTI.
Prior to your appointment you will be emailed a link to join the video meeting. The first time a patient uses the telehealth platform, they will be prompted to download an application for their computer or smartphone. We recommend you start this process roughly five (5) minutes before your first time appointment using telehealth.
The first step for every new patient is to Schedule a Consultation. NVTI welcomes all new patients with a complimentary consultation with Dr. Talaber before requiring a full evaluation.
The quality of treatment through telehealth is dependent on the knowledge and experience of the doctor. Dr. Talaber has been practicing telehealth successfully for years. She has even conducted webinars for other neuro-optometrists in her field on how to perform evaluations and treatment through telehealth.
Telehealth sessions are possible through any electronic device that has a camera, preferably a laptop or computer with a webcam.
As a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, most insurance companies are covering telehealth visits. If you plan on submitting invoices to insurance, we recommend you confirm individual coverage prior to your appointment.
Please note that NVTI is an out-of-network clinic and does not participate directly with any insurance companies. We assist patients with submitting their invoices and receipts to their medical insurance for possible reimbursement to the patient. Please keep in mind that just because your insurance company does not cover vision therapy or the process is difficult, this does not impact the need for treatment of these significant vision conditions.
